12 x 16 acrylic on wet canvass

I wanted to give my daughter something special for her 13th birthday. Something that will last longer than new clothing. We are trying to buy a house, and she had been begging me to paint a landscape on one wall of her (future) room, so I thought she might appreciate this.

Painting was inspired by a random photograph of the Oregon Coast at sunset.

Um, vaguely remembering a Bob Ross episode from him 16 years ago?

I have no clue. I have never taken a class, so I cannot define my "style."

If you want a good laugh, look at my drawings folder. Talk about sucking at something.

But in my defense, I was stuck in bed and had to keep my shoulder immobilized. So, I got out a How To Draw book and tried.

Thank you for the complement. I'll feel more confident about this painting after my daughter receives it at her party tonight.

Thank you very much. Yes, she got it when she got home from school. I would have to believe that the liked it a lot, as she demanded that I hang it on her wall, above the computer moniter, immediately!
